# How your campaign budget is spent

Money moves only when verified views arrive on reels you approved. Bookings reserve money for a while, verified views move it into the hold, and after the hold it is paid to the creator. Unspent budget stays in your wallet.

## Step by step

1. **Launch**: the budget is allocated from your wallet. It is still your money.
2. **A creator books**: part of the budget is reserved for them for 72 hours. If they do not submit, it returns to the campaign.
3. **You approve the reel** (or do not answer within 48 hours).
4. **Verified views arrive**: each batch of new views costs views × your rate ÷ 1,000, within your caps. That money moves into the hold.
5. **The hold ends** (15 days by default): the money is paid to the creator and counts as **Spent**.

You pay for verified views only. Reels that never reach the minimum views cost nothing.

## Out of budget

When the money committed reaches the budget, the campaign is marked **Budget used up**. Creators see this straight away and it takes no new bookings. Views on existing reels are still tracked, but they are not paid while the campaign is out of budget, and not later either. Add budget to resume. See [Manage a live campaign](/help/managing-a-campaign).

## Watching it

Each campaign page shows views, spend, the share of budget consumed and the number of creators. You also get alerts as the budget is used.

## Unspent money

Anything not spent stays in your wallet when the campaign ends, for your next campaign or a refund. See [Refunds](/help/refunds).
