# Change your username

Open the profile menu → My account, edit Username and save. Usernames are 3 to 30 characters of lowercase letters, numbers, dots and underscores, and must be unique on Viewzar.

1. Open the profile menu (your initials, top right) and choose **My account**.
2. Edit **Username**. It tells you straight away whether the name is free.
3. Save.

## Rules

- 3 to 30 characters.
- Lowercase letters, numbers, dots (.) and underscores (_).
- Starts and ends with a letter or number; no two dots in a row.
- Unique across Viewzar. Some words are reserved, such as admin and support.

## Good to know

- Your username is your Viewzar login and public handle, for example on leaderboards. It is separate from your Instagram handles, which you manage in My accounts.
- Your old username becomes free for others once you change it.
- You can sign in with the new username straight away.
